Real-Time Object Specification Logic

A formal specification method called RTOSL ('Real-Time Object Specification Logic') for the objectoriented approach is presented: We have extended the object specification logic OSL ([SernadasA et al. 92b]) so that real-time constraints can be included in a specification in an elegant way. Concepts of real-time temporal logic have been applied to this end. Characteristics of RTOSL (different from OSL) are that every position is mapped to a concrete instant of time, that there is a differentiation between actions and action instances, and that events with a duration of time are replaced with an instantaneous begin event and an instantaneous end event. A deductive system is given. Automated verification is "within reach".
